Lafayette, LA : Man dies, car veers off road, hits tree on Saturday, December 27, 2014

Lafayette police say a 53-year-old man died after his car veered off the road and hit a tree.

Police spokesman Paul Mouton says George L. Augustine, of Lafayette, died in Saturday night's crash.

Mouton says Augustine was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
