MOUNT VERNON, MO : MoDOT reopens eastbound I-44 in Lawrence County for tractor-trailer crash on Saturday, 27th January 2024

MoDOT reopened the eastbound lanes of I-44 on Sunday morning following a tractor-trailer crash.

The crash happened around 3:30 a.m. at mile marker 48 near Mount Vernon. The tractor-trailer blocked both lanes of the interstate.

We do not know how many vehicles were involved in that crash. Tow trucks began moving the vehicles around 7 a.m. The lanes opened around 8:30 a.m. Crews diverted traffic onto exit 46 at Missouri 39.

Authorities have not released any information regarding injuries involved in the crash.
