Oxon Hill, MD : Two medics injured in ambulance crash on Beltway’s Inner Loop on Monday night, January 18, 2016

Authorities say two medics are recovering after a car sideswiped an ambulance on the Capital Beltway’s Inner Loop in Oxon Hill, Maryland.

Prince George’s County fire department spokesman Mark Brady says that upon being hit Monday night, the ambulance hit a light pole and crashed on the side of the Beltway. Brady says the two employees in the ambulance were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The light pole pierced a nearby car, coming within inches of impaling the driver.

No patients were in the ambulance at the time of the crash.

Authorities say the driver whose car hit the ambulance stopped about 200 yards from the crash scene.
