A motorcycle driver was taken to the hospital Wednesday night after he hit a curb and was launched into oncoming traffic.
Police responded to reports of a car-pedestrian crash at around 8 p.m. near the intersection of Chapel Hills Drive and Research Parkway.
The motorcyclist was turning right onto Research Parkway from Chapel Hills Drive when he struck a curb, throwing him off of the motorcycle and into the southbound lane of traffic, where he was hit by a vehicle traveling southbound.
The man was not wearing a helmet, and was taken to the hospital with critical injuries, police said.
The investigation in ongoing, police said, but speed and alcohol are not being considered as factors.
