Roanoke, VA : Monterey man killed in Bath County crash on Sunday, August 14, 2016

Bernard Tabatznik, 89, of Monterey, died Sunday after his car collided with another vehicle on U.S. 220 in Bath County, police said.

Tabatznik was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Sonic about one mile south of Virginia 607 when his southbound car crossed the center line and struck a 2006 Peterbilt tractor-trailer traveling north, according to a news release from Virginia State Police.

The truck driver, Steven D. Grogg, 44, of Brandywine, West Virginia, was injured and taken by ambulance to a hospital, the release said.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the release said.
Master Trooper M.A. Elliott is investigating the crash.
