I-4 westbound reopens after crash in DeLand

All lanes are now open after a crash shut down Interstate 4 westbound in DeLand Sunday.
A 16-year-old girl was transported to Halifax Medical Center in critical condition.

State troopers said the crash left both vehicles overturned, causing major delays on the interstate.

"Troopers also investigated three other crashes in the same location on both the east and westbound sides," Sgt. Kim Montes, a spokeswoman with the Florida Highway Patrol, said.

"Impatient and irresponsible drivers also added to the traffic issues by illegally driving on the shoulder to get to the exit."
