Mercer, PA : Man killed in I-80 crash in Mercer County on Monday afternoon, August 8, 2016

A Montgomery County man was killed in a one-vehicle crash along Interstate 80 in Mercer County on Monday afternoon.

State police in Mercer identified the victim Tuesday as Scott E. Loper Jr., 19, of Lansdale. Police said he was driving a 1997 Jeep Wrangler east on I-80 in Wolf Creek Township at about 3:45 p.m. Monday when he veered off the roadway and into the grass median. Loper tried to veer back toward the eastbound lanes and the Jeep began to roll, partially ejecting Loper, according to troopers.
