OXFORD TOWNSHIP, MI : 66-year-old motorcyclist killed in crash near Oxford on Wednesday, 1st May 2024

A motorcyclist died Wednesday after police say a car turned into his path on M-24 in Oxford Township.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office says 66-year-old Jimmie Haggadone of Orion Township was riding a Yamaha motorcycle south on M-24 around 4:45 p.m.

At the same time, 54-year-old man from Farmington Hills was driving a Toyota Corolla on West Oakwood Road. Traffic on M-24 has a flashing yellow light while traffic on Oakwood Road has a stop sign with a flashing red light.

Investigators say the Farmington Hills man made a right turn from the stop sign to head south on M-24 in front of the motorcycle.

Haggadone was thrown from his motorcycle after the crash and landed in the median along M-24. An ambulance from the Oxford Township Fire Department rushed Haggadone to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
