Cullman,AL : Jasper woman dies in three-vehicle wreck at Bug Tussle on July, Thursday 13th 2017

A Jasper woman died Thursday afternoon in a three-vehicle wreck on Alabama 69 South.

Cullman County Coroner Jeremy Kilpatrick identified the victim as Cynthia West, 43, at the scene. It wasn't immediately clear if anyone else was injured in the wreck that occurred shortly before 5:20 p.m.

According to emergency dispatch reports, Cold Springs firefighters were dispatched to the wreck with one victim trapped inside a vehicle. It wasn't clear if West was that victim, and Kilpatrick said she was out of the vehicle when he got to the scene.

Alabama State Troopers did not have any other details about the wreck but planned to release a statement Thursday night.

The Cullman County Sheriff's Office closed the highway as crews worked to clear the scene. The wreck remains under investigation.
