Columbus, OH : Granville woman killed in Licking County wreck on Thursday, January 6, 2017

A Granville woman was killed in a Licking County crash this afternoon.

The crash occurred around 12:30 p.m. on Route 16 near Cherokee Trail in Harrison Township, according to the Granville Post of the State Highway Patrol.

A Ford minivan pulled out from a private drive onto Route 16 and was struck by an eastbound semi, the patrol said. A westbound Toyota Corolla was then struck by the minivan before all vehicles came to rest on the north side of the road.

The driver of the minivan, Joyce Tighe, 76, of Granville, died at the scene, the patrol said.

The driver of the Toyota, Quilann Lewis, and his passenger, Sierra Weiss, both 20 and from Newark, were transported to Licking Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, the patrol said.

The driver of the semi, Jeffrey Hill, 28, of New Lexington, wasn’t injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
