Wilmington, NC : Motorcyclist crashes following police chase in Leland on Thursday, 25th August, 2016

A short police chase ended with a motorcyclist heading to the hospital Thursday afternoon.
Emily Flax, a spokeswoman for the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office, said officers attempted to pull over a motorcycle just after 4 p.m. A chase began about 10 minutes later, although Flax said she did not yet know the circumstances of the chase.
Less than a minute after the chase began, she said the white and blue motorcycle crashed on U.S. 17 South near mile marker 39.
The motorcyclist was transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center. The driver's condition is not know at this time.
