Five people hurt in rollover crash near Mountain Home

Five people were sent to the hospital after a one-vehicle rollover on Interstate 84 near Mountain Home this afternoon, according to Elmore County dispatch.

Traffic in the westbound lanes of I-84 was backed up for miles while emergency
crews responded to the crash scene.

The accident happened just before 4 p.m. near mile post 97.Elmore County dispatch tells us that five people were in the car. Three air ambulances were called to the scene to air lift all five people to hospitals in Boise. No word on the condition of those involved in the accident.

Both westbound lanes were closed for more than an hour while helicopters landed and then took off.
The Idaho Transportation Department sent out a traffic update at 5:14 p.m. stating that one lane was open again, but the right lane remained blocked. Both lanes reopened at 5:52 p.m.
