Sarasota County, FL : Sarasota biker killed in Bee Ridge crash on Thursday, 9th January, 2020

A motorcycle rider was killed in a crash Thursday night on Bee Ridge Road in Sarasota County, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.

According to the FHP, a Yamaha motorcycle driven by Jett Wong, 19, of Sarasota was heading east at high speed on Bee Ridge approaching Worcester Road at about 8 p.m. A GMC Suburban driven west on Bee Ridge by Donald Hartery, 68, of Sarasota was stopped and attempting to make a left turn onto Worcester.

The vehicles collided. Wong, who was wearing a helmet, was fatally injured. Hartery, who was wearing a seat belt, was not hurt.

The crash is under investigation.
