LAKE WALES, FL : Lake Wales woman killed in head-on crash on Tuesday, 3rd July 2018

A 69-year-old Lake Wales woman and a dog were killed in a three-vehicle crash on Thompson Nursery Road on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Lake Wales Police Department.

Donna Lee Laughton was pronounced dead on the scene after her 2007 Kia veered into the oncoming lane while traveling east about 12:05 p.m. and collided head-on with a 2009 GMC 3500 pickup, police said. The crash occurred on Thompson Nursery Road east of Lake Ashton Boulevard. The truck, owned by Southwest Florida Water Management District, was being driven by employee Ronnie Crosby, 59, of Lakeland, with Cale Broom, 50, of Winter Haven, in the passenger seat.
