SOUTH BURLINGTON, VT : SBPD: Cigarette-lighting driver crashes on May 28th 2014

Police say distracted driving led to a single-car crash in South Burlington.

It happened around 3:30 p.m. on Spear Street near Overlook Park. Investigators say the male driver was trying to light a cigarette. He lost control of his car and landed in a ditch.

"Pay attention to the roadway when you are driving. Vehicles are heavy machines and they cause a lot of damage. Luckily in this instance nobody was injured," said South Burlington Police Officer Sean Pope.

No other vehicles were involved.
