RICHLAND COUNTY, SC : Traffic back to normal on I-77 after fuel truck, car collide on Tuesday August 30th 2016

Traffic on Interstate 77 southbound is back to normal Tuesday morning after a collision Monday night caused a tractor-trailer to leak a significant amount of fuel.

A Columbia Fire Department spokesman said the tractor-trailer and a vehicle collided at mile marker 12 near Decker Boulevard shortly after 9 p.m. One person from the vehicle was taken to an area hospital with injuries.

Emergency personnel said no lanes in the roadway are blocked, but drivers are asked to use caution in the area. HAZMAT crews were called to the scene to help with cleanup

The S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control also reported to the scene.
