Saybrook Township, OH : 53-year-old man died after motorcycle crash in Ashtabula County early Sunday, August 7, 2016

A 53-year-old man died after he was ejected from a motorcycle and struck a tree early Sunday in Ashtabula County.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Randal Richards, of Ashtabula, died from his injuries at the scene. The crash occurred Sunday at about 12:45 a.m. on Route 84 east of Route 45 in Saybrook Township, according to the highway patrol.

Richards was riding a 2013 Suzuki west on Route 84 when the motorcycle went off the left side of the road and struck a ditch, authorities said. He was ejected from the Suzuki and hit a tree, according to the highway patrol.

The crash remains under investigation.
