LAPORTE COUNTY, IN : Pedestrian killed in LaPorte County hit-and-run crash on Monday, 22nd April 2024

The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect after it says a man was hit and killed by a vehicle on Monday morning.

Police were called around 6 a.m. to the 11000 block of W. US-6 just west of Westville after a citizen saw a deceased man off the side of the road. They later found the man lying off the westbound lane of travel near a ditch in the 11800 block of W. US-6.

The man’s identity is being withheld until his family is notified.

US-6 was closed for approximately three and a half hours, but has since reopened.
