DILLON, SC : One person died and a second was airlifted from the crash on Saturday, July 15, 2017

One person died and a second was airlifted from the crash scene Saturday following a one-car crash on Interstate 95 just south of the North Carolina line.

The 2 p.m. crash happened near mile marker 195 when a south-bound 2002 Toyota ran off the left side of the road, into the median and struck a tree, said Cpl. Sonny Collins, South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The passenger died in the crash. The driver was flown to a Florence hospital for treatment, Collins said.

Both people were wearing seat belts, he said.
