Providence, RI : Women crashes into state police cruiser, charged with DUI on May 15, 2014

State Police have arrested Anna Capaldi, 25, from Providence, after they say she crashed into a police cruiser while intoxicated.

Police say at around 12:49 a.m. Thursday morning, state troopers were investigating a three vehicle crash on Route 146.

Capaldi was traveling north on Rt. 146 and struck an occupied marked State Police cruiser which had its emergency lights activated.

Police say she submitted to a series of field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment.

The Trooper suffered minor injuries, was treated at Rhode Island Hospital, and later released.

Capaldi is charged with Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs – BAC Unknown, Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test and Operating on a Suspended License.

She was arraigned and released on $2,000 Personal Recognizance.
