Cartersville, GA : Four injured in weekend accidents on Saturday August 27, 2016

A spate of car accidents sent a total of four people to local hospitals after three separate incidents on Bartow County roads.

The first such incident took place Saturday night near Cartersville. Officials with Bartow County Emergency Medical Services were called to the scene of an accident at Highway 411 and West Rocky Street, where first responders found a 16-year-old female patient with severe trauma to the neck and back.

After she was assessed on the scene, a medical helicopter was requested for transport and she was flown to the Children’s Hospital of Chattanooga for further treatment.

On Sunday, a pair of wrecks combined to send three people to local hospitals.

The first call came through early Sunday afternoon, sending crews with BCEMS to Interstate 75 near Adairsville. There, officials found a male patient still inside the vehicle. The tractor trailer he was driving had left the roadway and was laying on its side near the woods. The patient was helped from the vehicle and was then transported to Floyd Hospital for further evaluation.

The third call came it at 5:59 Sunday evening. BCEMS?responded to a single-vehicle accident on Red Top Mountain Road near?Waterside subdivision.

Once on scene, BCEMS?found that the vehicle had veered off the road and struck a tree.

The crew found two patients, both suffering from injuries.
