Two injured in crash at U.S. 59 and Rock Creek RoadOnlookers watch as a Volkswagen Jetta is pulled out of a dry creek bed and up an embankment on the edge of the Rock Bridge addition after a two-vehicle crash about 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12. According to Zionsville Police Department Officer C.S. Abbott, the Jetta was pulling out of the Preserve At Spring Knoll onto County Road 400 South when it was struck by a westbound SUV. The SUV was thrown into the entrance of Rock Bridge, and the Jetta crossed CR 400 S and down the embankment. The Jetta had severe damage to the passenger-side door. Abbott said the Jetta only contained the driver, while the SUV had a driver with three passengers. All five of the people involved in the crash were teenagers, and they all knew each other, Abbott noted. All five were taken to the hospital to be checked out, and they all were released. The most serious injuries were cuts and scrapes. Abbott noted that all five were wearing seatbelts, which kept the teens from being more seriously hurt.
