Fryeburg , ME : 47 - Year old truck Passenger was killed and driver was critically injured after truck slid off Route 5 on Tuesday , December 9th 2014

Investigators say poor road conditions caused by the winter storm may have contributed to a fatal accident in Fryeburg.

Police said 47-year-old Rhonda Robblee of Brownfield was a passenger in a truck that slid off Route 5 on Tuesday and hit a tree. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck, 64-year-old Paul Cundiff of Porter, was reported in critical condition after being taken to a Lewiston Hospital.

Fryeburg Police Chief Joshua Potvin said the road was icy and snowy at the time and the truck may have bene going too fast for the conditions. The accident remains under investigation.

The storm brought a mix of snow, rain and sleet to Maine. Several school districts canceled classes for the day on Tuesday.
