Hazleton,PA : Two injured in I-80 crash on April, wednesday 26th 2017

Two people were seriously injured when a tractor-trailer rig landed on top of a car just west of the Conyngham/Nescopeck exit of Interstate 80 in Sugarloaf Twp. on Wednesday evening.

The accident occurred on the westbound lanes near the bridge that takes Interstate 80 over Route 93.

I-80 was closed at the exit as emergency crews encircled the area.

A medical helicopter landed on I-80 and awaited the extrication of the injured from the wreckage, which took about one hour for the second person injured in the car.

The crash occurred about 6:50 p.m.
