Millsboro, DE : Woman killed when the car she was driving was hit by a pickup truck on Mount Joy Road on Tuesday, January 19, 2016

Delaware State Police say a woman was killed when the car she was driving was hit by a pickup truck in Millsboro.

It happened about 8:50 a.m. Tuesday on Mount Joy Road, troopers said in a news release. Police say 49-year-old Robert Weaver of Millsboro was driving a pickup truck west when the car drove off the road, returned and then crossed into the eastbound lanes.

Investigators say the pickup truck struck a car driven by a 31-year-old woman. Troopers say the truck drove off the road and overturned several times, landing on its left side.

Police say the woman, who was not identified because relatives had not been notified, died at a local hospital. Weaver was treated at released at a hospital.

The crash is under investigation.
