Defiance, OH : Henry County man injured in a two-vehicle crash near Wauseon on Tuesday morning, August 2, 2016

A Henry County man sustained serious injuries Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle crash near here.

Richard Hardesty, 69, Liberty Center, was taken by EMS to the University of Toledo Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition Tuesday afternoon.

A second motorist, Adam Bachman, 42, Wauseon, was taken by a family member to the Fulton County Medical Center, Wauseon, where a condition update was unavailable.

According to the Toledo post of the Ohio Highway Patrol, at 6 a.m., Hardesty was westbound on Fulton County Road C and collided with a southbound vehicle on Ohio 108 driven by Bachman. Hardesty's vehicle then collided with a utility pole. Emergency personnel had to use the Jaws of Life device to extricate Hardesty from his vehicle.

Troopers reported that both drivers were wearing safety belts. Damage was heavy to the vehicles.

Assisting at the scene were the Fulton County Sheriff's Office and Wauseon Fire/EMS.
