PRINCE GEORGE, VA : 3 people killed in I-95 head-on crash on Thursday, 10th January 2019

Three people were killed afternoon in a head-on crash in Prince George County.
The crash closed all southbound lanes of I-95 about one mile north of Carson, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), for nearly three hours.Virginia State Police say the crash happened in the southbound lanes near mile marker 36.9 just before 2 p.m.
The driver of a Chevy Cruze, Eric G. Estes, 38, of Oldsmar, FL., was heading north on I-95 and veered across the median, hitting a Lincoln Navigator heading south.
Estes was wearing his seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Lincoln was identified as Gary K. Lilly, 70, of The Villages, FL., and the passenger was identified as Elizabeth L. Lilly, 70, of The Villages, FL. Both victims were not wearing seatbelts and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Traffic was being detoured off the interstate at Exit 37, backing up traffic for several miles Wednesday afternoon.
