4 injured in accident Near Green Valley Arizona

A pickup northbound on Interstate 19 blew a tire, crossed the median into the southbound lanes and struck two vehicles Friday afternoon.

The accident between Sahuarita and Duval Mine roads sent four people to hospitals, according to the Green Valley Fire District. The accident occurred about 3 p.m. and closed both southbound and one northbound lane for about 90 minutes.
According to DPS, the pickup driver was not injured but a 58-year-old female passenger was transported by ambulance to UMC. The 19-year-old male driver of one of the vehicles struck was air-lifted to UMC after he was cut out of his vehicle. His 18-year-old female passenger was transported by ambulance to UMC and another man, 48 and from Nogales, also was taken to a hospital. All had serious injuries, according to GVFD.
