Anthony, KS : Wichita man dies from Harper County accident on SUNDAY, January 1, 2017

Dean Mark Melton, 29, Wichita, died from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident that occurred at 10:05?a.m. Sunday, west of Anthony on K-2.

Melton was driving a 2013 Ford Fusion west on K-2 and for unknown reasons, the vehicle went left of center and struck a 2008 Buick Enclave driven by Cynthia J. Archuleta, 60, Kiowa.

Archuleta suffered injuries and was transported to Via Christi in Wichita. Archuleta’s passenger, Danny Dean Archuleta, 63, Kiowa, had possible injuries. Both he and Melton were taken to the hospital in Anthony.

Melton was not wearing a seat belt, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol report. The Archuletas were wearing seat belts.

A spokeswoman at Via Christi-St. Francis said Sunday evening they would not be releasing information on Cynthia Archuleta.
