Scioto County Man Killed In Early Morning Crash

A man from Scioto County, Ohio is dead after a car accident in West Portsmouth.The accident happened on Careys Run Pond Creek Road, five miles north of U.S. 52, around 3:00 a.m. Sunday.Troopers say 27-year-old Jesse Butcher lost control of his Dodge Ram pickup truck, hit a road sign and then struck an embankment.Paramedics took Butcher to Southern Ohio Medical Center where he died.Troopers believe alcohol played a role in the crash.
