Belleville,IL: Man hospitalized after motorcycle accident in Belleville on September, Saturday 30th 2017

A man was hospitalized Saturday night after a motorcycle and car accident on West Main Street.

The driver of the motorcycle was taken to a hospital by an ambulance at about 7:15 p.m. The driver of the car was not seriously injured and did not go to the hospital.


Jim Egler, a resident who was sitting outside a shop nearby at West Main and 10th Street, said he saw the tail-end of the accident. He said he saw the front of the car hit the motorcycle, and he heard a crunch as the motorcycle slid sideways onto the street. Egler said the man was conscious after the accident.

“He had road rash on his face and hands, and blood on his leg,” Egler said. “It didn’t seem too serious, but you never really know until you get to the hospital to get checked out.”
