South Amherst, OH : Motorcyclist critically injured in Baumhart Road collision on Thursday evening, August 18, 2016

A motorcyclist was critically injured and flown to a Cleveland hospital after his Harley-Davidson collided with a Jeep at Baumhart and North Ridge roads on Thursday evening.

Involved in the crash about 7 p.m. was a 2015 Jeep driven by Travis Logan, 23, of Sandusky, and a 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The identity of the motorcycle driver, who was flown to Cleveland MetroHealth Center in critical condition, was not available, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.

Sarah Slack, who witnessed the crash while waiting at the intersection stoplight facing west, said the Jeep was northbound and turning left when it and the southbound motorcycle collided.

The intersection reopened at 8:30 p.m. after being closed for about an hour and a half.

Vermilion Police and Fire departments as well as the South Amherst Fire Department all responded to the 911 call that came in at 6:59 p.m.
