Jersey City, NJ : 2 critical after head-on crash on Route 206 in Andover Monday afternoon, August 8, 2016

Two men were critically injured Monday afternoon in a head-on crash on Route 206, New Jersey Herald reported.

Nicholas Yanakas, 20, of Flanders, and Justin Mosher, 32, of Newton, were taken to Morristown Medical Center after the crash near Cycle Works, the newspaper reported.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation but State Police told the Herald Yanakas was traveling north in a red 2005 Ford Taurus and Mosher was operating a 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit heading south.

At least one of the drivers was airlifted from the scene and both drivers apparently sustained serious lower body injuries, the newspaper reported.

Route 206 was closed for several hours following the crash due to the accident investigation.
