Hannibal, MO : Both drivers injured in a traffic crash in Jackson County on Friday morning, August 19, 2016

Both drivers, including a Hannibal resident, were injured in a traffic crash Friday morning in Jackson County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol the mishap happened at 5:38 a.m. Aug. 19 on westbound Highway 50 at Old Lone Jack/Lee's Summit Road.

The accident occurred when a 1996 Mac truck operated by 52-year-old Penny L. Zumwalt of Hannibal attempted to cross westbound Highway 50 and pulled into the path of a 2002 Ford operated by 30-year-old David A. Harley of Warrensburg.

Zumwalt's injuries were described as minor while Harley sustained moderate injuries. Both drivers, who were wearing safety devices at the time of the collision, were transported by ambulance to Centerpoint Hospital.
