CARLSBAD, NM : Semitrailer driver killed in crash south of Carlsbad on Saturday, February 25th 2017

New Mexico State Police are investigating a fatal crash that left a 69-year-old man dead.

The crash happened around 9 a.m. on Saturday on Eddy County Road 725 south of Carlsbad.

John Mason, Jr., was headed east in a semi tractor-trailer when he veered of the road and stuck a guard rail.

Mason was pronounced dead on scene and police are still investigating.
