CINCINNATI, OH : 7-year-old struck by driver in Avondale dies at Children's Hospital on Tuesday, 30th March 2021

A 7-year-old girl died Tuesday afternoon after being struck by a car while she crossed the street in Avondale.

Police said Sharesse Lattimore, 7, and another victim, also a 7-year-old girl, were hit early Tuesday afternoon while running across Vine Street. The pair didn’t use a crosswalk, according to traffic investigators, and ran into the path of a teenage driver heading north on Vine Street.

The car hit both of them; both were hospitalized at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. Police shut down a portion of Vine Street for much of the afternoon to investigate.

Lattimore died at the hospital, according to officials. The other remained hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators wrote they did not believe the driver who hit them had been speeding or impaired at the time of the wreck.
