Pocatello, ID : Man killed in crash involving motor home west of Swan Valley on Thursday, August 18, 2016

On August 18, 2016 at approximately 4:23 pm, Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle, fatality crash on US 26 near milepost 374.5, west of Swan Valley.

Larry E. Krueger, 66, of Swan Valley, ID, was driving a 1992 Chevrolet pickup westbound on US 26. Steven R. Zabel, 50, of Bozeman, MT, was driving a 1999 Freightliner Motor Home pulling a 2003 Utility trailer eastbound on US 26. Krueger's vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane of travel, colliding with Zabel's vehicle.

Krueger was transported by air ambulance; Zabel was transported by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.

Krueger succumbed to his injuries. Next of kin has been notified. Neither driver was wearing a seatbelt. The lanes of US 26 were blocked for approximately three hours and ten minutes while crews cleared the scene.

The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
