PEORIA, IL : Peoria fire truck damaged in bridge accident on Sunday, 18th March 2018

The combination of fog and icy conditions caused an eight-vehicle accident on McClugage Bridge Sunday morning, Peoria Fire Department Battalion Chief J.R. Malone said.

Shortly before 8 a.m., a Peoria fire truck was responding to the reported collision in the eastbound lanes when it became part of the accident, Malone said. The truck was struck and damaged enough to be taken out of service.

One person was transported to a local hospital after the accident for a minor knee injury. No other injuries were reported.
