MENDON, MA : Woman dies from injuries suffered in Mendon car-bus crash on Wednesday, 24th August, 2016

A woman whose car was involved in a crash with a loaded school bus on Wednesday has died.

Cheryl Drainville, 57, of Bellingham, succumbed to her injuries after being rushed to the hospital, a spokesman for the district attorney said Thursday. She was a passenger in the vehicle. The driver, Richard Drainville, 33, of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, remains hospitalized.

No children were hurt in the crash, which occurred about 8:15 a.m. at Route 140 and Bates Street.

The 16 children on the bus were headed to a YMCA program.
