An Ellicott City man has died after his vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer in Elkridge.

Howard County Police tell local media that the crash happened early Monday on Maryland Route 100. Just before 3:30 a.m., 24-year-old Julio Cesar Grimaldo Gonzalez was traveling west in the eastbound lanes when his 2015 Chevy Camaro struck a tractor-trailer head-on and caught fire.

A 2007 Chevy Impala also traveling east struck the tractor-trailer after the head-on collision.

Police say Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured.

The investigation is ongoing.
