An 11-year-old girl is in fair condition after being struck by a vehicle as she rode her bike Tuesday evening near North 27th and West Burleigh streets, police said.

Dominique Ford said a dark-colored van ran over her daughter, Katty Bartley, about 7:30 p.m. and drove off.

"He hit her one time, looked at her and ran over her head and just kept going," she said.

Ford said Katty has serious injuries and has been in and out of sleep at Children's Hospital.

"She started moving around, talking, sitting up," Ford said.

Ford urges the public to speak up if anyone knows who was behind the wheel.

"I just want some information, so I can get peace of mind and whoever did it, turn themselves in and quit running," she said.
