Third Accident Involving LCPS Bus in Three Months

A Loudoun County Public Schools bus driver was charged with reckless driving following an accident along Sycolin Road in Leesburg Monday morning.

The accident marks the third school bus accident in Leesburg since December.Shortly after 7 a.m. today, Leesburg Police responded to reports of a crash involving two county vehicles at Sycolin and Miller Drive SE, including one school bus and one Loudoun Count Public Schools utility truck.

There were no students on the bus at the time.One occupant of the truck was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital with a head injury, while another went to Inova Cornwall’s emergency room in Leesburg for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The bus driver was not injured, according to Leesburg Police.Officers charged school bus driver Ali Saghafi, 69, with reckless driving.
