Fredericksburg, VA : Remington woman dies in collision with truck on Friday morning, August 5, 2016

A 49-year-old Remington woman was killed Friday morning after her car crossed the center line and hit a box truck.

According to Virginia State Police Sgt. Les Tyler, the woman was heading north toward Brandy when for her car veered into oncoming traffic on the two-lane highway. The accident occurred about 9:30 a.m. about 200 feet north of the state police headquarters.

Kelly Ann Shea, who was driving a 2002 Toyota Prius, was pronounced dead at the scene, Tyler said. The driver of the box truck, which ran off the road to the right and overturned, was not injured, Tyler said.

Trooper Wanda Beard investigated the accident. The Brandy Station volunteer fire department, the CulCpeper rescue squad and the Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
