A deadly crash is under investigation in Colorado Springs.
Around 9 p.m. Saturday, the Colorado Springs Police Department responded to North Academy and Vickers for a single-vehicle crash. Officers found a vehicle on fire with the driver dead inside.
Police say the driver was speeding in the soutbound lanes of North Academy when there was a curve in the road. The driver then ended up in the northbound lanes and hit a curb, which police say caused the vehicle to roll and catch fire.
The driver has not yet been publicly identified. The area was closed for several hours but has since reopened. We will update this article as we learn more.
