Authorities have identified the 24-year-old man killed when he was struck by a vehicle that left the scene of the accident late Saturday night.
Jeremiah Carpenter, of Hollywood, died at MUSC Sunday from injuries in the crash, according to Charleston County Deputy Coroner Kelly Kraus.
The incident happened at 10:30 p.m. in the 6100 block of Dixie Plantation Road.
A witness told deputies the vehicle involved appeared to be a black Chrysler.
The Sheriff's Office Traffic Division and Forensics Services Unit is continuing to investigate.
