Chicago, IL : Man killed, 2 injured in Calumet Heights crash on Thursday night, August 18, 2016

A 61-year-old man was killed and two other men were injured in a Calumet Heights neighborhood crash Thursday night on the South Side.

About 9:30 p.m., two men in their 30s were in a car going east on 94th Street when it blew a stop sign and slammed into the older man’s vehicle, which was southbound on Stony Island, according to Chicago Police.

All three were taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where Jerry Cazares of the 11600 of South Avenue M was pronounced dead at 10:21 p.m., according to police and Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The others were listed in serious condition, police said.

CPD’s Major Accidents Investigation Unit is handling the case.
