GREENVILLE, SC : 2 pedestrians hit, 1 killed in hit and run in Greenville on Wednesday, 24th April 2024

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office said one person was killed and another was injured after being hit by a car Wednesday morning.

According to the Greenville Police Department, a car hit two men on North Pleasantburg Drive near Worley Road and left the scene around 5 a.m. Officials said one of the men was taken to the hospital, while the other was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office explained that the victims were walking with bicycles when they were struck. They added that footage from the scene indicated that the victims were on the sidewalk when the crash happened. The Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 42-year-old Santess Jarmar Cummings.

Officers confirmed that the driver involved left the scene without stopping to help. Officers said through camera footage and witnesses, they’ve determined that the car from the crash was a silver Chevrolet Trailblazer from sometime between 2002 and 2009.
