FARGO, ND : Motorcyclist injured after crashing, sliding underneath SUV in south Fargo on Tuesday, October, 17th 2017

A motorcyclist was thrown off his bike and ended up underneath an SUV after colliding with the vehicle Tuesday, Oct. 17.

The crash occurred near 25th Street South and Kirsten Lane South about 5:15 p.m., according to Fargo police Sgt. Jim VanLith.

VanLith said the motorcyclist was southbound on 25th Street and the SUV was eastbound on Kirsten Lane when the SUV driver turned to head north on 25th.

“That’s when the motorcyclist struck the SUV on the driver’s side,” VanLith said.

The motorcyclist was conscious when emergency crews arrived, and his injuries did not appear life-threatening. He was taken to Essentia Hospital, the sergeant said.

VanLith said the crash remains under investigation. No one has been cited at this point, he added.

VanLith declined to release the identities of the motorcyclist and SUV driver.

The motorcycle was a complete loss, and the SUV was able to drive away from the scene, he said.
