LAKELAND, FL : 1 dead, 1 injured in wrong-way crash on Polk Parkway on Saturday, 8th September 2018

The 33-year-old driver of a 2015 Smart car traveling the wrong way on the Polk Parkway early Saturday died when his car slammed head-on into another car.

Raymundo Centeno, of Mount Dora, was driving west in the eastbound lanes, south of K-Ville Avenue, at 2:28 a.m. when his car collided with a 2008 Dodge Charger driven by Mikolaycak Milorme, 29, of Winter Haven. Both cars came to a stop in the eastbound lanes, which remained closed for several hours after the collision.
