Beloit, WI : Two men die in Rt. 2 accident on Saturday night, August 6, 2016

Two men from Rockford died in an accident at Route 2 and Roscoe Road on Saturday night.

Winnebago County Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Hintz said the accident occurred when a motorcycle, which was heading northbound, and a car, heading westbound on Roscoe Road, collided at the intersection.

The motorcyclist died at the scene of the accident. The driver of the vehicle was transported to Rockford Memorial Hospital, where he later died.

Names of the accident victims have not been released. The coroner's office is working to notify family members.
